YO.
Did you miss me?
I haven’t written an email since Valentine’s Day.
I’m sorry I’ve been out of touch for so long…
I’m back now- here to fill you in on our weekly tastings every Friday.
Feel free to unsubscribe if you choose.
WINE TASTING TONIGHT 6-9 PM:
GOOD AND CHEAP WINE
(so good and so cheap, you’ll want to buy a case for the long weekend!)
Il Faggio Montelpulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy, 2008
A fresh and spicy Italian red great with food or without…
“an everyday enjoyable wine for enjoyable people!”
$10/bottle
Alpha Zeta Soave, Italy, 2008
“Succulent unoaked fruit and supple texture make this smart wine so quaffable to the snazzy people of Verona and all others who choose to revel in its suaveness.” What? It’s good and cheap!
$9/bottle
Otto’s Constant Dream Riesling, Marlborough, New Zealand, 2009
So zingy and bright, it’ll quench the thirstiest of thirsties… and a touch of honey that feels oh so healing when served ice cold on a muggy day.
$15/bottle
PLUS a loaded cheese table and fresh, warm bread from SCRATCH!
OTHER NEWS:
We will open at NOON everyday (Monday-Sunday) starting in JUNE!

COME DRINK PINK BUBBLES @ DANDY TONIGHT
AND SAVE 25% @ FRED FLARE AND 10% @ EAT!!!!!
We will be pouring 3 Sparkling Roses from around the world plus a soul-soothing Ice Cider from Canada just in time for the winter Olympics…
LE COLTURE BRUT ROSE (ITALY): Pink Prosecco at its best. Delicate and flirty in nature. A very pretty wine to look at, to drink, and to share with your lover…(There are 2 horses frolicking on the label just to give you an idea of what kind of mood this wine will inspire.) $19
LUCIEN ALBRECHT CREMANT D’ALSACE BRUT ROSE (FRANCE): 100% Pinot Noir from Alsace. The same family has been running this winery since 1425!!! They consider this Cremant a specialty of the house. It’s the prettiest salmon pink color you ever did see. This wine smells of wild strawberries… it’s super sexy and perfectly delicious. $21
AVINYO CAVA RESERVA ROSAT (SPAIN): 100% Pinot Noir from Spain. A RESERVA requires the wine to rest on its lees for at least 18 months, which will result in a richer, creamier bubbly… like those from Champagne. The grapes used to make this wine are farmed organically. $29
And last but not least…
NEIGE ICE CIDER (CANADA): “Neige” means snow but liquid gold is a good way to describe this cider. Complex aromas of freshly picked apples might make you think your about to drink sweet, but the tart acidity provides perfect balance and makes this Canadian nectar the perfect pairing with foie gras, cheese, or dessert. $32
If you end up buying one of the above bottles tonight,
you will receive a discount card to use at FRED FLARE this weekend (this weekend only)…
you can also take your receipt over to EAT for 10% off your bill!
ALSO… We will have handmade chocolates available for sale by Megan tonight and tomorrow…
PLUS Stella will be here selling her beautiful bouquets all day tomorrow.
So Dandy is officially your one-stop shop for Valentine’s Day.
Flowers! Chocolates! Wine!
We got what you need.
DANDY LOVES YOU!

…On such a winter’s day…
Come taste 3 reds from California at Dandy tonight from 6-9 PM:
LAGUNA RIDGE 2006 SONOMA COAST PINOT NOIR
Burgundian in character… mushrooms and earth mingle with wild berry fruit. Yum. $21
SUMMIT LAKE 2003 HOWELL MOUNTAIN ZINFANDEL
“Dusty mountain tannins” as one person put it, sounds like a CW song… I get black pepper and plums with a long smokey finish, maybe some dark chocolate in there somewhere too. $18
RELATIVITY 2007 QUANTUM RESERVE
There’s a lot going on here… Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon… it’s a big, bold, blend of a wine. I was skeptical at first, but the cherry and spice won me over. It’s a house favorite. $19
Beaucoup de fromage and a fancy peppercorn pate from Northern Cali that will most definitely pair well with tonight’s selections.
(While supplies last)
Don’t let the cold deter you from our Friday Night Tasting (6pm-9pm).
The wine and cheese will be plentiful!
2007 Vinosia Malvasia: A subtle white wine that smells of flowers… $11.50
2006 Ernest Catena Selection “Tahuan” Argentine Malbec: My mom’s favorite… $16.50
2007 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso: Mount Etna organic fruit… $21
Duche de Longueville: Sparkling cider from Normandy!… $9
Plus it’s Tom’s birthday on Tuesday — come wish him a happy one.
If that doesn’t motivate you to bundle up and hop over, I’m not sure what will…
DANDY LOVES YOU!!!
2008 CLIC — 100% Friulano, which is the proposed new name for Tocai Friulano, from Friuli (the northeastern most region of Italy).
2008 ERA NERO D’AVOLA — Steel-fermented, organic Nero d’Avola from Sicily.
2008 RUCHE – Ruche is a rare Piemontese variety.
2006 EZIO VOYAT — A particularly interesting Rosso like you’ve never had before… it was love at first sip for me.
